Life's Rough
A woman sat down to rest
awhile to enjoy the warm spring air,
A young girl was sitting next to her,
The wind stirring her long blonde hair
The woman stated "It's a lovely day,
but I wish life was not so hard"
Someone had come the night before
and stole her bike from the yard
Her hairdresser's
appointment was cancelled
Her husband had taken the car
And to walk a mile downtown,
was considered way too far
Her little girl was in one
of her moods
and had to be chased down the street,
The woman had taken a tumble
when she tripped over her own two feet
The day was not going well,
as anyone could plainly see
"I should have stayed home in bed,
had a nap or watched T.V."
The young girl said she
understood,
but didn't know what to say
Then adjusted her leg braces,
picked up her crutches and hobbled slowly away
